The 9 Euro Ticket
The German Government has introduced a temporary ticket valid for one month that entitles you to
travel on all local and regional bus, train, and tram lines all over Germany. It may be obtained from all
ticket machines.
If you arrive at Frankfurt Airport, we suggest you get one there. Ditto for Frankfurt or Mainz Central
Station. The ticket will give you unlimited travel to and in Mainz (and even Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, or
where your fancy takes you).
Make sure you sign it; remember that it is valid until and including 31 August 2022 (afterwards you
will need regular tickets) and not valid on fast trains (Intercity, Intercity Express, and Eurocity, i.e. IC,
ICE, and EC).
